GRAVETRANCERS from Black Mask Studios is a story that had been percolating in the back of my mind for quite a while. After hearing about local Chicago graveyard owners being arrested for reselling plots and tossing bodies into a pit in the back of the property, I knew some time, someday, I’d be writing a story about this ghoulish subject matter. That’s where the seeds of GRAVETRANCERS began. It’s a story about a twisted family who owns a graveyard and makes a living crafting drugs from the bodies they are supposed to bury. Add in a pair of siblings who are in search of the resting place of their own deadbeat dad and you’ve got a terrifying tale filled with mind altering drugs, perverse activity, and all kinds of wrong doings too sordid to discuss in polite company. With trippy visuals from James Michael Whynot, GRAVETRANCERS was a hit that enlightened and terrified critics and fans alike!

I love horror and I put everything in this comic that creeps me out and gives me nightmares. GRAVETRANCERS was my love letter to some of my favorite horror films such as THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE, MOTEL HELL, and BEYOND THE DARKNESS and with morbid visuals by Whynot paired with the transcendental colors by Dee Cunniffe it is a terror trip you won’t forget. Though the book is yet to be collected into trade, single issues of this four-issue series are available to be purchased online here (#1), here (#2), here (#3), and here (#4) on Amazon, Kindle, and Comixology!
