I was waiting to hear your take. “Sandpaper to the Scrotum” is a great description of the first hour. We gave up after the chase scene cause we saw there was another 50 minutes of crap. Over the weekend everyone told me to finish the film, as the final act makes up for the first 2.. so I did. Malignant is without a doubt Batshit crazy, but that last 50 minutes didn’t make up for all the mishaps in acting, pacing and tone. Thanks for the review!

Personally i loved the sh@t out of this batsh@t crazy flick!!! i agree with you and other commenters that its first half is slow and takes a while to build the universe..but given where it goes, im ok with that. i also am beyond stoked that the reveal regarding the villains origin was seemingly very easy to guess given clues along the way BUT the way Wan implemented said reveal was absolutely crazy, fun, and original. This will definitely be one of my fav viewings of 2021!!!

Glad you liked it. Yeah, I’ll be rewatching it again soon and I agree, it was all there from the beginning. The part where they said they just smooshed the brains into the skull had me rolling.
