The day after Halloween is always the worst day of the year for me. Unlike Christmas, where folks tend to leave the decorations up for a while afterwards and the holiday films still keep on playing, all of the fair weather horror enthusiasts tear down the decorations and those channels dedicating their marathons to non-stop horror all of a sudden return to their normal programming. It always hits me hard when the last day of Halloween comes and goes.
Well, fear not horror fans, around these parts, it’s Halloween all year around!
As I go into the tenth year of reviewing horror films, I wanted to go back to the beginning and repost some of the films I loved starting with the year I began reviewing the genre officially October 1, 2010 through October 1, 2011. I have posted my best of lists in the past, but a lot of those old reviews haven’t seen the light of day since they were first posted many moons ago. Being the OCD person that I am, I have also reworked the list, looking back at my own choices and shifting them around a bit. I’ve even added a few that I might have missed or looked over from the year in question. So if you think you know how these lists are going to turn out, you don’t!
I wanted to thank everyone who checked out MLMILLERWRITES over the last month. The site broke new records in viewership and there was even some discourse in the comments (!!!). I hope to continue the momentum into the upcoming months with new reviews as well as news about my new comics, and by revisiting these best of lists, so I hope people will continue to check out the site from time to time so see what you might have missed, agree wholeheartedly about my opinions, or just rip into me for my bonehead choices in the comments.
Thanks again and let’s keep the horror going long past Halloween!

Thanks for all your hard work again. This is also my favorite time of year, I keep a list of your lists (and others) and add them to my watch list. I see as many as I possibly can even going back to previous years to catch ones I’ve missed. For example, I still haven’t seen Chimeres or Vanishing Skin.
So I very much look forward to this revised, reboot if yo will, of your archive lists. But I dread the drain it’s going to add to my watch list.
Sorry I haven’t participated with feedback much as I play catch up and forget to come back to comment.

Sir,
THANK YOU!!!! Thank you for this site, for your reviews, for your amazing lists, and for regular content!! I know its alot of work. However it is unmatched in the genre of horror and really helps we fans not only pick great titles to watch but also expose us to literally countless movies that we’d not know otherwise. I dig it the most!
Keep up the great writing dude.
